Hello all of you wonderful Parents!
We made it through the first couple weeks of school, as well as football practice and our first away Football game...take some deep breaths! As most of you know, a lot of your sons are joined at the hip. They have classes together, eat lunch together, practice together, and hang out on the weekends together. They are all very considerate young men, and never hesitate to share with one another...and currently they are all sharing the stomach flu and strep-throat!!
As it turns out, during the middle of last week, a few of my players reported to me with upset stomachs, some had fevers, others just felt lousy! As some of you might have observed, I even had a couple of players sick on the sidelines Friday night. So far I have had at least 5 players stricken with the stomach flu (new kids come to me daily), and have had at least three players report that they are being treated for strep throat.
For the players with the flu and strep, most have been to the Doctor and are one some type of antibiotic. For the players that have been fortunate to maintain good health, please help ensure that they continue to do so!!
I have talked with the team about the importance of NOT sharing drinks, washing hands frequently, and making sure that they get plenty of rest each night to keep their immunity levels high.
Please, help me keep your athletes healthy by making sure that they are getting a daily multi-vitamin, getting extra vitamin C, eating lots of good protein, getting plenty of rest, and drinking LOTS of water to ensure that they are staying hydrated and keeping their immunity strong! I will continue monitoring all of my players at school, please help me monitor at home.
I appreciate your follow through and your attention to this matter...my goal is to keep all of my athletes healthy and on the field! If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to email me: firstname.lastname@example.org. I would be happy to answer any questions you may have. Thanks again for your time and attention to this matter.
